CAM062 - White stainless steel bracket reversing camera with RCA/Phono connectors
Bracket reversing cameras such as this one are still the most popular style of camera, especially with motorhomes, caravans, HGV, and vans.
The camera bracket is made from corrosion resistant stainless steel that has been painted matt white - we find matt paint finishes last longer than the gloss type.
The image sensor is made by Sony, it is a 1/3" CCD 700TVL image sensor. This means you get good day and night picture.
There are night vision IR LED's fitted to allow you to see in the dark when parking. These come on automatically as the light level drops. The light is only visible to the camera, it won't shine distracting light at any vehicles behind you.
The reversing camera will send a mirror image to the monitor. This is essential for cameras pointing backwards, to ensure that the obstacles on your left are displayed to the left of the display - like a mirror does.
The camera has a fly lead with a yellow phono / RCA socket present. It also has a 2.1mm DC socket for power supply. We supply a 150cm 2.1mm DC plug to red wire (+12V) and black wire (earth) to fit in to this (extensions are available in the cable length drop down menus).
The camera will cope with whatever the weather can throw at it. It is waterproof to IP68.
The reversing camera has approximately 120 degree viewing angle (diagonally measured).
Anti-Corrosion Stainless Steel Camera Bracket
The camera has a stainless steel bracket, which is shown to last a very long time without corrosion, unlike mild steel we have seen from most other retailers, which tends to rust in a matter of a few months.
Image Sensor for Camera
An image sensor is the part of the camera that detects and captures information to make an image, there are various sizes of sensor usually between 1/4" and 1/3" with the larger sensors able to capture more detail. In the old days, you used to have to pick CCD for quality as CMOS wasn't as good, this has changed recently with some advancements in CMOS technology (there are varying quality levels of CMOS to confuse matters). In this particular kit, we are using the Sony 1/3" CCD 700TVL image sensor inside the camera. We consider this the joint best image sensor in terms of picture quality you can get on a reversing camera.
