About the Mercedes Vito brake light reversing camera kit with 7" mirror monitor to fit 2016+ vans with Tail Gate Tail Lift
Our Mercedes Vito Tailgate Reversing Camera Kit is designed to replace the OEM brake light on W447 2016+ tail lift model vans. This kit has the following features :
Tidy Factory Look - The brake light reversing camera is designed to be an exact fit to the location of the existing high-level brake light, retaining a tidy factory-fitted appearance on your van. This camera retains your rear wash wipe waterjet with the correct size cut-out in the lens.
Easy Installation - This camera uses the original mounting points making it easy to secure to vehicle.
IP69K Waterproof - This camera is rated to IP69K, the highest rating you can get. This camera will easily cope with the strongest torrential downpours you may experience with the great British summer weather.
Superb Image Quality - This camera is fitted with an upgraded 4089 image sensor, which gives great colour replication and also returns a high resolution—700tvl. The camera also boasts an all-glass lens, which lasts a lot longer than the cheaper plastic-glass lens available from elsewhere (ours avoids the UV fade issues).
Ultra Wide Angle - Our brake light reversing camera boasts a 170-degree (diagonally measured) ultra-wide viewing angle. The extra wide angle gives you the wide angle required to avoid obstacles around the rear of your vehicle.
Excellent Build Quality - We picked the best brake light camera manufacturer we have come across to build these cameras to our spec. They may cost us more to bring in, but the picture quality, customer satisfaction, and reliability is worth it.
2-Year Guarantee - The factory we use is happy to support the two-year guarantee we offer for the brake light cameras. Feel reassured that your purchase is protected by us - Reversing Cameras UK Ltd, aka REVCAMUK. If any non-user damage fault shows itself in the two-year post-sale period, we will swap the camera to ensure your vehicles reversing safety.
Optional Guidelines - Choose to either have guidelines added to the image or removed - your choice.
Choice of Mirror Monitor Mounting Options - Choose to either clip over an existing mirror, if you have one, or select one of our attach direct to windscreen bracket options.
What vehicle does this fit?

Mirror Monitor Mounting Options
We stock a number of different mounting options for the mirror monitor, depending on what you currently have fitted to your van. Please check the options below, and select the one that you require from the drop down menu above.
Clip over original mirror Mounting
This type of mirror monitor has spring loaded clips on the rear, instead of 4 screw holes for our swan neck brackets to fit. Ideal if you have a van with an interior mirror already fitted.
ACCMB5 - OEM button
This fits to a type of windscreen button typically found on Mercedes Vans.
ACCMB2 + Button + Glue (add a button)
If you have any vehicle which is missing a windscreen button then you can order this bracket kit, it comes with Loctite 319 rear view mirror bonder, this was recommended to us by a fitter who installs lots of these.
Choice of kit power options
On the monitor wiring harness is a 2.1mm DC socket. On the drop down menu of this product, you can select your desired power lead to plug in to this.
The standard hardwiring is supplied with all options, this terminates in a red wire (+12V/+24V), and black wire (earth).
For the ultimate quick install is a lighter plug option. Some people also order this just for the initial setup, before changing to the standard hardwiring/fuse tap.
Fuse taps aka piggyback fuse holders, are the most recent addition to our options. This allows you to "piggyback" off an existing circuit from your fuse box. The most common size fuse found in modern vehicles is the mini blade (size = 10.9mm wide x 16.4mm tall), older vehicles are likely to have the standard blade (size = 19.1mm wide x 18.8mm tall). Download and read our Fuse Tap installation instructions PDF for more information.
Our fuse taps were designed by us, they have a 200cm lead that connects directly to the monitor socket with no soldering / crimping required. There is a black wire with an earth terminal attached - designed to fix to a chassis bolt/screw. This earth wire/terminal can be separated away from the red wire to enable you to find the most convenient ground/earth (although often this is next to the fuse box).
Easy-Fit Wiring
We have been using this type of cabling since 2007, and it has performed perfectly in all of this time. It is called the 4 pin aviation cable, and uses what is known as a 4 pin GX12 connector.
This type of connector is very durable, and can be kept outside exposed to rain and freezing temperatures.
It makes fitting easier, and avoids CANBUS issues due to the monitor powering the camera.
It keeps contacts clean and dry, plus prevents them from accidental separation.
It has become the industry standard connector, which means you aren't forced to buy future cameras/cables/upgrades from one retailer - as parts are interchangeable between numerous suppliers (although we are confident you will be impressed enough with us that you will choose us for any future upgrades/spare parts).
All of our aviation extension cables are high quality, with the inner cores consisting of pure copper. We do not use the cheaper CCA (Copper Coated Aluminium) or CCS (Copper Coated Steel) cables, because they are more prone to failure/degradation over time.
Image Sensor for Camera
This particular system uses the PC4089 1/3" Hi-Res CMOS image sensor (not to be confused with the older technology low res CMOS), this runs at 700TVL and gives a really crisp picture with a good colour replication. We use 4xglass composite lens instead of the cheaper 2xglass, 2xplastic lenses, which cloud/fade over time due to UV exposure. With our camera you can be assured of good performance and long term reliability.
Monitor has Digital LCD Panel - Not Standard LCD
Our monitor uses a Hi-Res digital panel LCD screen with an 800x480 pixel display. To complicate matters we have seen a difference in quality between 800x480 pixel panels. We only stock LCD panels that have the brightest backlights, and the best colour replication. This costs us approx. 50% more than we could buy the monitors for, however, the reliability, picture quality, our reputation in keeping our many return customers happy, means we are willing to pay the extra (you get what you pay for!).
2 Year Guarantee
We supply with a 2 year Guarantee with us, meaning we will repair or replace any non-user damaged parts that are deemed faulty. Our failure rate is very low even beyond these two years, if you have a problem outside of 2 years we should still have compatible parts and possible repairs for reasonable amounts.
Parts Tested in the UK
The parts of this kit will have been tested twice, once by the factory and once by us. We check all the items in the kit including all cables, trigger wires, IR leds and menu functions to reduce any chance of having a non working part. Our fault rate is extremely low, and we just like to ensure that we avoid any imperfection slipping past. This is why professional fitters love us.
