Description

We are often approached by customers who have a single cable installed in their motorhome, but who would like to fit either a second camera, or one of our twin lens cameras to provide both rear view/parking view. One of the factories we use made this switching box for us.  Please note that the box is NOT waterproof. It must be placed in a dry area, away from moisture.

Both trigger wire only and trigger wire + button options

This means that you will be able to simply plug two cameras in to the CAM1 and CAM2 inputs, then plug the VIDEO OUTPUT 4 pin plug to the cable/monitor input, and add a trigger eg reversing light power to the blue trigger wire. When the blue wire receives power, it will switch channels. Once power is removed, it returns to the original channel. For example, if you attach the blue wire to a reverse light feed, when you select reverse gear the switching box will change to the camera you wish to show when reverse is selected. Once you come out of reverse, the power will no longer be present, so the switching box will revert back to the "always on" camera.

Trigger wire + button option only

In addition to the standard trigger wiring mentioned, you will also gain a self adhesive small button switch.  When this is pressed the system will change channels.  We see this as ideal for when you want full manual control at the front of the vehicle.

Examples where you may wish to use a button instead of a trigger to change channel:

  • You wish to have full manual control over when to change between channels.
  • You wish to fit an additional reversing / side camera but have run out of channel inputs.
  • You wish to fit an MDVR recorder, but have run out of channel inputs to be able to view the MDVR recordings/settings etc.
  • You have channels that you want to swap over function of eg you tow a trailer/caravan and you don't want the vehicle reversing camera to show when you are hitched up. You could simply press the switch button so that the reverse channel switches to the trailer view on that channel instead.
